In 1992 I graduated from York University with a PGCE in Mathematics and worked in a small school in Essex (near London) for 4 years. I then worked in Industry as a Safety Case Engineer for 1 year. Following this, I went abroad to teach Military students mathematics in the United Arab Emirates for 2 years. I returned to the UK in 1999 and took up a teaching position in a grammar school in Liverpool for 22 years. Here I taught mathematics full time and also was a form teacher for each year group over the time. This is where I really enjoyed being able to impart knowledge to students from their entry into secondary education. I have taught mathematics at GCSE and upto A-level (including Further Mathematics) across the disciplines of Pure, Mechanics and Statistics.
